Core World: The planet of Ariel is known as one of the jewels of the core. Some of the finest restaurants and museums in the core. It also boasts a beautiful bio-luminescent pool. Ariel City also has a wonderful medical facility known as St. Lucy’s. Like most core worlds, it is high security and high priced. As they say, though... You do get what you pay for here.
Frontier World: A small backwater world that harbors four moons one of which is inhabited. It is a livable, yet somewhat lawless, world. It's a notorious den for the slavers of the woman known as Patience. She has been known to snatch up random people for her giggles. So if you hear, “ KWAI chur hun-rien duh di fahng.” Don't question it, just run.
Periphery World: A farm world dealing mostly in livestock. If you are looking to work and work hard, you can find a living here in one of many ranches or few factories on planet. It’s a good Earthy kind of place, but the locals don’t take kindly to tinhorns or strangers. Prepare to be shot on sight if you don't show respect.
Core World: A beautiful oceanic world that is a main part of the Alliance. A playground of the rich and home to several hundered floating cities. “Castles in the Sky” as many call them. They are some of the highest security estates in the core, and it is the home to many an Alliance general and noble. It is also rumored to be the resting place of one of the last known Lassiters in existence.
However, there's a dark side to this world. A deep split. Any of the poor or disobedient servants are forced to the planet below, which resembles the hottest part of any Hell you could imagine. Most of the abandoned on this surface have found something resembling the Lassiter. After hearing about Hera's uprising, the Alliance is also starting to worry about this find...
Periphery World: A heavy industrial world, Bernadette is known for its massive mining operation. This planet has been known for its pollution and general grime. A very rough world to live in, but a good place to deal business. This is the main world for any forays into the frontier.
Periphery Moon: A small border moon, sometimes used for smuggling and the like. While the planet has many farming communities, Beylix is basically the system's garbage dump. The scrap yards and reclamation centers are often scavenged due to low security. It turns out what is trash in the Core is treasure to those on the Rim. Beylix is a good place to start a new life, as you can often find some old ship and spare parts to get her flying again.
Core World: As with most core worlds, Boros is heavily connected to the alliance. Known for it’s tech industries and academies. The Military Academy, known as the Sinclair Academy, is one of the Alliance’s best known Officer schools turning out a number of heroes/villains of the battle of Serenity Valley.
Frontier Station: a “Drifter colony” built from the hulks of older ships. It is a privately owned outpost working within the laws of the Alliance. Due to it’s sheer size, it does not follow the rules of extended space travel despite not being a planet. It is a home a way from home for many travelers in the Black. Natives of Dyton can be identified fairly easily due to their notable - East End, London - accent. Home of the notorious rodent pair, Ferret and Badger.
Periphery World: Ezra itself is not much to look at, it is a small world with not much on it. You might find a small ranch here or there but very little else. The main attraction is a skyplex above the planet run by Adale Niska ,a known mobster and criminal cartel owner. Niska is known for is incredible cruelty and sadistic obsession. You’d do best not to cross him. After being double crossed and outwitted by the Serenity crew, he's doubled his sadism. So, for the love of Lao Tyen Yeh, don't go here unless you're armed to the teeth.
Periphery World: One of the bigger Independent worlds. It is known for excellent medical facilities, as well as being one of the few civilized zones still left in the periphery. While nowhere near the same kind of civilization found in the core, it is still an impressive sight to the frontier folk.
Periphery World: Haven is a border world which was the site of a small mining outpost of some type. For a price, the local inhabitants were willing to provide shelter and the chance for a new beginning for those wishing to remain under the Alliance's radar.
During his relentless search for Simon and River Tam, the Operative destroyed the outpost on Haven, together with all of its inhabitants. As a testament to an old friend, Maverick led people back here. It is now considered a planet that is hostile to the Alliance, due to the atrocities perpetuated here. After seeing the women and children slaughtered, many former Browncoats mounted extra defenses, including the very gun used by Derrial Book, himself. Named "Ol' Book", the cannon is one of many defenses.
As such, this is the home of the Monarch and Maverick's Orphanage. The children and the people here are abandoned by the war or the Alliance's tactics. All here know a bit about Maverick, but choose to ignore his past, due to his deeds in the present.
Periphery World: The site of the final battle of the Unification War, Hera was the governmental head of the Independents. The once powerful planetary senate was torn down by the Alliance in an attempt to unite the galaxy under one banner. Few Independents visited Hera, and most avoid it altogether. However, times are changing again. As it redeclared its independence, it has become a hotbed of unrest. It's feared that war will happen here once again.
Frontier World: The main commerce of Higgins moon is a thriving ceramics business. However the people of Canton are given probably the worst end of the stick given a people. They, however, do have one savior a hero who fought the law for them and almost ruined Boss Higgins' ceramics cartel, He is the hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne.
Frontier World: This planet is know as a primary dumping station of ship parts, many hulks of Independent battle cruisers and frigates lie dormant on Ita’s desert like climate. There is an Alliance outpost stationed on the planet to guard the hulks, it is often thought of as one of the worst duties an Alliance soldier can be given.
Frontier World: Known as the Prairie Paradise. The planet is a typical frontier town. The planet also hosts a culture of backwaters luddites known for their superstitious and strange ways. Such people have been known to kidnap people of use to them. There are warnings to such note in the Sheriff stations on Jiangyin. A followup warning to this is that these “Backwater Amish” tend to be rather fanatical in their beliefs.
Alliance Outpost: An Alliance space station (serving the same general purpose as a frontier fort in the Old West), Kowlan is located closer to the border world of Jiangyin than Persephone. It's moderately fortified, but the soldiers here are considered some of the toughest SOBs around.
Core World: As the first planet formed by the American half of the Anglo-Sino Alliance, it stands as one of the two jewels of the 'Verse. This world is the home of the many economic, social, and judicial headquarters throughout the 'Verse. It's said that every minute, a new decision or action is made here, by the corporations. Very dangerous world to go to, if you're wanted, though. As this is the HQ of the Alliance military command.
Periphery World: This is the place where the brandy of the same name comes from. Other than liquor production, it's a port of call for all export goods along with its neighbors. It's a haven for alcoholics, literally.
Frontier World: A lush and somewhat vibrant world that is just undergoing colonization. The Terraforming process was completed 5 years ago, and it is still in the midst of primary colonization. At the moment, there are no known problems with the planet, yet...
Periphery World: An oceanic world known for it’s teaming sea life. It has a thriving seafood market. It is often a well known layover point for ships traveling from the periphery to the core.
Capital Core World: Capital of the Alliance and home to a great many important corporations, schools and hospitals. As with most core worlds, the planet Osiris has a massive defense and security network. It is also home to the head offices of the Blue Sun Corporation, and many of their high level operations have remained planetside on Osiris.
Frontier World: An agricultural world that has recently hit on hard times. The terraforming operation has left Paquin with an unpredictable weather season. Which this results in rather random weather patterns. Some of the richer farmers have begun attempts at artificial greenhouse systems. Not all attempts have been so lucky. At best, only 10 percent of the experiments seem to want to work. However, the weather has left a lot of people without the resources to make ends meet sending them seeking employment in any way they can.
Station Colony: A space station that serves as the bastion of what passes as civilization out on the Rim. Of course, that's using civilization in the most charitable sense of the word. The Drift, as it is known, is owned through a joint venture between Blue Sun Corp. and Browning Mining Firm. It was established as a port for transport ships who came to move the expensive ore from the nearby dead moon and asteroid belt.
Though there is still mining done, during the war and shortly after, it became a way point and transport hub for the mass migration to the Rim from the Core. Due to it's way out location, and the fact a profit was still being made, the Corporations started to rent out space to private parties. Soon, the Drift became a thriving port much like the forts of old, from the Earth-that-was.
Just after the War, however, it seemed if the Corporations all but forgot about the Drift. Though mining was still being done, it was just not enough to keep interest. However, the Drift is also a haven for regular commerce. It boasts a market place were the mundane and exotic can be found. It still has a top notch postal service, a fine dining establishment. Plus, the bars and night clubs are even heard about as far as the Core.
Its medical facilities are second to none in the area. (Not saying much, but compare this to frontier medicine, shall we?) A fairly legitimate banking system. Importantly, coffee shops that don't strain the beans through ship coolant. The rare fresh fruits, vegetables and meat can be found on the Drift, also. This is an important point of call for all Independent Merchants.
Periphery World: A massive lunar complex that is home to over 12,000 of the galaxy’s worst criminals and scoundrels. It is a high security planetoid where only the worst of the worst are sent. Any trade here is done by Alliance military or police forces. You don't want to end up here. If you do, consider yourself dead, because there is no escape...
Periphery World: Known as the gateway to the frontier, Persephone is a near perfect balance of core technologies and frontier mentality. It is a perfect port for petty thieves and smugglers. While there is an impressive Alliance presence. There is enough gaps in the security net to make it a great base of operations for any crew not interested in dealing with the Alliance.
Frontier World: Regina is known for its massive mining operations. The ore processors and atmospheric conditioners of Regina have created conditions for a disease called Bowden's Malady, a degenerative affliction of the bone and muscles that leaves victims weak and in constant pain. Regular treatments of Pasceline-D halts the progression of the disease.
The Alliance sponsors regular shipments of the drug to Regina, which depends on the shipments for continued prosperity. Anyone who's a Robin Hood type is also known here, such as Mal and his crew, for obvious reasons...
Frontier World: Tracey’s home planet. Described as an ice world. A little less than two days hard burn from the Space Bazaar Sky Plex. There's a Fed Station here. Other than the cold, the people make a hard scrabble life creating, of all things, winter wheat. Constantly cold most of the cycle, it's people are a tough breed. Yet, most are friendly to the Browncoats, even sending many of their sons to die for them. Hence, the Fed Station being set up to watch them...
Frontier World: A settled lunar colony. Santo is a known den of a slavers community. They use kidnapped people to sell them into slavery or indentured servitude on planets such as Whitefall or Higgins Moon. They also have been known as a decent ranching planet with a newly forming entertainment business. As time goes on, it's trying to become a 'family friendly' world.
Periphery World: Mostly harmless, because it's mostly dead. A planet that has lost all of it’s cultural identity thanks to the Alliance carpet bombing campaign during the Unification War. The planet was known as a ranching world dealing primarily in cattle and chickens. Lots of grazing land on this soon to be reclaimed planet.
Core World: The first planet formed by the Chinese side of the Anglo-Sino Alliance. This world is the other main jewel of the Alliance. It's the technological center of the 'Verse, as all technologies were made here at some point. As one of the most advanced worlds around, it's got a massive contingent of Alliance purplebellies guarding all aspects of life. In truth, the Alliance fears losing this world more than it fears losing Londinium. As the major financial center and home of the Companion's Union, this world is tricky to freely move in.
Frontier Station: Controlled by the Alliance, this station/colony is under the grip of the notorious fencer/marshall, Agent Womack. As evil as he is corrupt, any merchant that doesn't watch his step will find themselves in his trap.
Frontier World: To put this nicely, this place is backwards at best. It doesn't have much in the avenue of trade, so it's primarily dependent on a growing agri-business to its fellow outer planets. It's also known as a pirate fencing planet, if you need it to be.
Periphery World: A primitive border planet where even the most civilized townships are governed by fringe religious sects with very strange teachings and practices. This is one of the worlds known to be the home of the she-con artist known in the Merchant Circle's by the Serenity given name of "Yo-Saff-Bridge." Don't fall asleep next to the opposite sex here, you'll end up married...
Periphery World: Due to the planet's heavy involvement in the Independents' side of the Unification War, Verbena is scarcely surviving, barely more than a piece of barren rock. Recently, the Alliance has been making an effort to show the population the error of their ways by leading them back into prosperity through government-funded improvements to the planet's economy.
It was a lush world of thick forests. The world was largely underdeveloped until the Alliance made it a centerpiece for its "rejuvenation after Unification" campaign. Government incentives funded new construction, including a factory to supply parts for military vehicles.
An Independent soldier-turned-terrorist bombed the factory, killing hundreds and destroying the structure. The bombing sent the world into an economic depression and created an atmosphere of paranoia, fear and hatred for Browncoats and the Independence movement.
Frontier World: This Moon is a small colony run by a woman named Patience. Patience is a known criminal who has worked her way into planetary management through threats and blackmail. It is a lawless moon run by a criminal. Being such, it's home to a vigorous and evil slave trade. Best watch your step, get the job done, and be on your merry fast.
